Code of Conduct

Last updated: January 2025

Dundee Argentine Tango is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants in its activities and events. To that end, the group has established the following code of conduct:

Respect and Consent

All interactions and physical contact on the dance floor must be based on mutual respect and enthusiastic consent. Unwanted advances, touching, or other inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

Safety and Consideration

Members should be mindful of their surroundings and dance in a way that does not endanger or inconvenience others. Adapting movements and techniques to the dance floor size and density is expected.

Appropriate Attire

Members are expected to wear attire that is conducive to social dancing and does not pose safety hazards on the dance floor.

Sobriety

Members must refrain from being under the influence of alcohol or drugs to the point that it impairs their judgement or ability to dance safely.

Constructive Feedback

Any feedback or criticism regarding a member's dancing should be provided privately and constructively, with the aim of helping them improve rather than shaming or degrading.

Inclusivity and Non-Discrimination

Dundee Argentine Tango is committed to being inclusive regardless of age, gender, race, ability, or any other personal characteristic. Discrimination or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

Conflict Resolution

In the event of any disputes or conflicts, members should seek to resolve the issue amicably and, if necessary, involve the group's leadership for mediation and appropriate action.
